Terms of Use

Last Updated: February 2025

Section X: Ownership of Data (The "Anti‑Lock‑In" Clause)

In accordance with Law Society Rule 10‑3 (BC) and similar provincial guidelines, the Customer (the Firm) retains 100% ownership of all "Client Data" and "Results." We grant you a license to use our software; we do not acquire any rights to your client files. You may export your Data in a structured, commonly used technological format at any time during the Term or within 60 days of termination.

Section Y: Professional Responsibility & No Advice

The Platform is a calculation tool for professionals only. TrustMetric is not a law firm or an accounting firm. The results generated by the Calculators do not constitute legal or tax advice. While we strive for 100% accuracy based on the 2026 Income Tax Act, the User (the Lawyer/Accountant) is solely responsible for verifying the final results before advising their clients.

Section Z: Audit Rights & "On‑Demand" Access

If a Regulator (e.g., a provincial Law Society or CPA body) requires an audit of the Firm’s records, TrustMetric shall provide the Firm with the necessary tools to grant "Read‑Only" access to the Regulator to satisfy "On‑Demand" production requirements without compromising the security of the broader platform.
